How to Draw a Teepee
A teepee (also spelled tipi and tepee) is a tent made from the hides and skins of animals. Teepees were widely used by the American Indians of the Great Plains in the United States. While real teepees are difficult to build, drawing one is simple.

1
Draw a large acute triangle on your paper. Draw a smaller acute triangle on the inside of the larger one, aligning the base of the small triangle on the middle of the larger one's base.
-
2
Draw two short, skinny poles coming out of the top tip of the large triangle. The two poles should be drawn at an angle so that they resemble the letter "V." Draw a third short, skinny pole coming straight up between the first two.

3
Draw the door flaps to the teepee inside the small triangle. When done correctly, the door flaps will resemble curtains. To make the right door flap, draw a line from the top tip of the small triangle towards the center of the triangle. Make the line gradually fatter as you draw down, continuing at a curve so that it ends in the bottom right tip of the small triangle. Draw a mirrored copy of this within the triangle for the left door flap.
-
4
Draw a skinny tear from the top tip of the large triangle down for approximately one-half inch. The tear you draw should resemble the long blade of a scythe.
-
5
Erase the base of the smaller triangle so that the triangle looks like it's an open door into the teepee, and your drawing will be complete.
