How to Eat Stone Crab Knuckles

You don't want to pound away at the knuckles with a hammer; it will create many tiny shards of crab shells that mix with the meat and make a mess. Not just anyone can break the tough shell. It takes some strength in the hands. Does this Spark an idea?
