How to Make Ice Cream Push Ups

Push Ups are an ice cream treat made by Nestle. These frozen desserts pack ice cream or sherbet in a cylinder. To eat the Push Up, the bottom of the cylinder is pushed up and the ice cream comes out of the top. Make your own version of the Push Up at home with your favorite flavor of ice cream, sherbet or frozen yogurt. The secret is using small, wax-lined paper cups. Cutting the bottom on these will allow the ice cream to be pushed to the top of the cup, just like a Push Up. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the ice cream from the freezer and soften it on the counter for 10 to 15 minutes.

    • 2

Tightly pack the ice cream into each of the paper cups, filling them to the top.

    • 3

Press a piece of aluminum foil over the top of each cup. This will help to level off the top and keep the ice cream fresh in the freezer.

    • 4

Freeze the homemade Push Ups for at least 30 minutes to harden.

    • 5

Run a sharp knife around the bottom of each of the cups to separate the bottom from the sides of the cup. Do not remove the bottom of the cup, you will need it to push up the ice cream.

    • 6

Press the bottom of the cup up, to force the ice cream to the open end of the cup for eating.
