How to Tether an i760

Using your phone as a modem allows Web access on the go.

The Samsung i760 is offered on the Verizon network and features Windows Mobile 6 along with that ability for you to use the phone as a modem through the data connection. The phone as modem connection allows users to connect to the Internet no matter where their location, as long as they are able to access the Web on their mobile device. This connection requires a subscription to Broadband Mobile Connect through Verizon and VZAccess Manager installed on your computer.

Things You'll Need

• Broadband Mobile Connect subscription
• VZAccess Manager software
• USB data cable for your i760

Instructions

1. Navigate to the Verizon Wireless website and download the VZAccess Manager software to your computer.

2. Touch "Start" on your i760 phone.

3. Touch "Settings."

4. Touch the "Systems tab."

5. Touch "Data connection" and select the connection method for your device. The connection options include internal data call, USB connection or Bluetooth connection.

6. Touch "OK" to save the changes. Your phone will return to the home screen and will be ready to facilitate your computer's Internet connection.

7. Open the VZAccess Manager software on your computer and click "NationalAccess-Mobile Broadband" from the drop-down list.

8. Click the "Connect WWAN" button. The WWAN button will change from reading "Connect WWAN" to "Disconnect WWAN" when your connection has been established.
