How to Donate Using Amazon

Save

Although you'd normally use your Amazon account to buy products like books and music from amazon.com, you can use your account to shop across the web and make donations to certain charities. This program is called "Amazon Payments," and the charities you'd like to donate to must have Amazon Payments set up on their websites. Once you have your amazon account set up, you simply have to click on the "Checkout with Amazon" button on the charity's website, fill in your amazon username and password, and donate---there is no need to re-enter your credit card information or address.

Things You'll Need

  • Amazon account
  • Navigate to amazon.com and click on "Start here," located at the top of the home page.

  • Enter the email address that you would like to use for your Amazon account, click "No, I am a new customer" and click "Sign in using our secure server."

  • Enter all of the required information on the next page, including your name and a password, and click "Create Account."

  • Click on "Your Account," located in the top right corner of the screen, and click "Add a Credit or Debit Card" in the Payment section of the website. Enter your debit or credit card information and your billing information.

  • Log out of your Amazon account, navigate to the website of the charity you would like to donate to, enter the amount of money you would like to donate and click "Amazon Payments" button. Remember, this charity must have Amazon Payments set up for you to use your Amazon account to donate.

  • Enter your Amazon username (the email address you used to set up the account) and your password and click "Checkout" after confirming your donation. Your donation will be made using the debit or credit card you specified when creating your Amazon account.
