How to Warm Up Snow Crab Legs

How to Warm Up Snow Crab Legs thumbnail
Present snow crab legs with the shell opened for easy meat removal.

Snow crabs may not be as big as Alaskan king crab legs or as famous as Maryland blue crabs, but when it comes to the meat in the legs, snow crab legs are among the sweetest tasting. Snow crabs reside in the cold waters of both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Snow crab legs usually are available already cooked, on ice in the store. You only have to reheat them when you get home. Whatever method you choose, remember you are only reheating, not repeating the cooking process. Overcooking the crab legs will result in rubbery, tasteless meat. Does this Spark an idea?

    • 11

Prepare and heat a grill to medium-high heat.

    • 12

Brush the crab legs with butter or oil.

    • 13

Wrap the crab legs in aluminum foil and place on the grill at least six inches from the heat source. Heat for about 15 minutes before serving.

Tips & Warnings

  • Although crab legs typically come frozen, you do not have to thaw them out before heating them up to eat.

  • Season the water when steaming or boiling to infuse flavor into the crab meat.
