How to Fry Cucumbers
Cucumbers are versatile vegetables that can be used in a variety of dishes. Young or small cucumbers are best for frying. Perfectly fried cucumbers will have an even golden color. If over-fried, they may not retain their country-cooked flavor. Cucumbers can be sliced or cut in half lengthwise before frying. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Things You'll Need
- 4 large cucumbers
- Knife
- Paper towels
- 2 cups flour
- Seasoning of your preference
- Dash of salt
- Dash of pepper
- Bowl
- Spoon
- Oil for frying

Wash and peel the cucumbers. Slice or cut them according to your preference. Thin slices will cook quickly and evenly.

Dry the slices by patting them with paper towels.

Mix flour, seasoning, salt and pepper in a bowl and roll the cucumber pieces in the mixture until evenly covered.

Add oil to the skillet and preheat to medium. Do not allow the oil to smoke, as the cucumbers may burn.

Add cucumber slices or pieces to the oil and allow them to turn golden brown on all sides. You may have to gently turn the pieces.

Pat the cooked cucumber with paper towels to soak up excess grease. Serve hot.
