How to Deal With Whining All Day
Every parent needs to deal with whining. No matter how old your kids are, they are going to whine at least some of the time. If you have more than one kid, you are probably going to hear whining more than you don't hear it. There are a few things you can do to deal with whining all day that will help you both discourage the whining and live your life in spite of this annoying habit.

1
Tell your children that whining is not effective. Don't belittle them or mock them, but simply label their behavior and tell them that it will not work on you.
-
2
Prove yourself right by staying strong. If a child is whining for something, do not under any circumstances give it to him -- even if it's a reasonable request. This will help teach him that he needs to ask for things in a polite manner rather than whine. Demonstrate for your child the correct and polite way to ask for something.

3
Avoid the potential for whining by keeping snacks on you at all times and avoiding outings that are near a child's naptime or bedtime. If children are hungry or tired they are more likely to whine, so make it easier on yourself by keeping them out of situations where they will whine.
-
4
Tell your children what the rules are about whining before you enter situations where whining is common. The grocery store is a good example -- have a chat with your child before you go in to remind him what is expected of him and what the consequences are if he does not meet these expectations.
-
5
Give your child a place to whine, such as his bedroom or in written form in a whining notebook. This will give him an outlet and will take away his excuses for whining to you.

Tips & Warnings
Don't worry if you occasionally cave in. You're human, and you're not going to be able to be 100 percent committed 100 percent of the time. As long as you stay strong most of the time you will effectively discourage whining.
