How to Get a Great Creative Tan With Designs

Save

Making temporary body designs out of creative, deliberately-made tan lines is simple to do. All you need to do is place a sticker on the skin area where you would like to have a design and tan as normal. The sticker prevents that area of skin from exposure to UVB rays, so you end up with a tan line in whatever shape or design you desire. Make your own stickers by cutting shapes and designs out of a plain sheet of sticker paper. It is less expensive than a sheet of premade stickers, and you can choose the exact look and size of your design.

Things You'll Need

  • Stickers in various shapes and sizes
  • UVB lighting or sunshine

Flower Garden

  • Make or purchase 11 to 15 flower-shaped stickers in sizes ranging from ½-inch to 4 inches. Flowers with sharply defined petals or long stems and leaves make the most elaborate effect.

  • Thoroughly cleanse and dry your skin.

  • Place one medium and two small stickers on your ankle, pressing firmly to ensure good contact.

  • Place five to eight medium and large stickers along the side of your torso opposite the ankle on which you placed the other stickers, in the space between your bathing suit or underwear top and bottom. Arrange stickers in an "S" shape for a flowing effect.

  • Place the remaining small and medium stickers along the back of your shoulder, your arm or the side of your neck, depending on sun exposure.

  • Tan as usual and peel the stickers off skin when finished. You will now have a creative body design that will last as long as your tan.

Starry Night

  • Make or purchase three to 12 star-shaped stickers in sizes ranging from ½-inch to 3 inches.

  • Thoroughly cleanse and dry your skin.

  • Using a mirror or with a friend's assistance, arrange the stars all around your back in the space between your bathing suit or underwear top and bottom, or cluster stars together at the small of your back.

  • Tan as usual and peel the stickers off skin when finished.
