How to Use Google Voice on a Conference Call
Google Voice is a free, Voice-Over-Internet Protocol application, which you can use to call landlines, mobile phones and other Google Voice users. To access Google Voice, you need a Google Gmail account. Conference calling via Google Voice is only possible with a Google Voice number. After accessing Google Voice, apply for a unique Google Voice number that you can give others to call you for a conference call.

Apply for a Google Voice Number

Launch your Web browser and navigate to google.com/voice.

Click "Upgrade My Account." A "Google Voice Signup" window appears.

Click "Get Started." A "Choose your number" window appears.

Type in an area code, city or zip code in the left text box and click "Search available numbers." Alternatively, enter a word or phrase to include in the number in the right text box. A list of numbers is returned that match the typed entry or entries. If there are no matches, repeat this step until a list is returned.

Go through the list of numbers, which are listed five per page, and pick one. Click "Continue."

Enter a four-digit PIN to access your voicemail by phone in the "Enter PIN" and "Confirm PIN" text boxes. Check the acceptance of Google Voice's terms and privacy policy box. Click "Continue."

Enter a phone number that rings when your Google Voice number is called. Select either home, work or mobile from the "Phone Type" drop-down menu. Click "Continue."

Google Voice will call you at that phone number to verify it before your Google Voice account is created. A special code is displayed that you need to enter when you accept the call. When you are ready, click "Call Me Now."

Answer the call and enter the code. Your Google Voice number is now created.

Advertise your Google Voice number to your conference participants.

Set up a conference call time.

When a conference participant calls, you are asked to accept the call. Press 5 to accept.

Repeat Step 3 for all your participants.

Tips & Warnings
It is not currently possible to record conference calls with Google Voice.
At the time of publication, Google Voice supports up to four callers in a conference call.
