How to Use a Transmit FTP
Transmit allows Mac users to move files between computers using the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and other well-known Internet standards. Developed by Panic Software, Transmit supports FTP, Secure FTP, Amazon's S3 file-storage system and WebDAV, another transfer protocol. Transmit also allows users to mount remote drives in Finder, Mac's built-in file explorer. When mounted, remote computer hard drives behave exactly like the computer's internal hard drive. Transmit is sold on Panic Software's website and through Apple's App Store.
