How to Call the USA From Bangladesh

International phone calls are not the complicated affair they once were.

You can call any land-line or mobile phone in the United States from just about anywhere in the world, including Bangladesh. Before calling the United States, check with your service provider (or hotel, if you are traveling) for calling rates. Calling anywhere outside of Bangladesh is likely to increase your telephone bill no matter where you live, so keep the call short if you are tight on funds.

Instructions

1. Pick up your telephone and dial "001". This is the region code for calling the United States (regardless of your location in the world). If you are using a calling card, enter in the number printed on the back of the calling card first, than press "001".

2. Enter in the area code of the individual or number you are calling.

3. Press the remaining seven digits of the phone number. Momentarily your phone call will be directed to the desired number. If using a calling card, an automated voice informs you of how many minutes you have left on the card before the call is placed.

Tips & Warnings

• Bangladesh is 10 hours ahead of the eastern United States and 13 hours ahead of the western United States. Keep this in mind when calling back home. Your best bet is to call during the evening time as both parties are up and about.
