How to Freshen Up a Cigarillo
If your cigarillo has gone stale, freshen it up using items you probably already have on hand. Cigarillos are small cigars that can be purchased at many convenience and smoke stores. You can tell a cigarillo is stale or old if it feels crackly to the touch instead of slightly springy in texture. You do not need a humidor to do the job, though storing cigars and cigarillos in a humidor greatly decreases the risk of staleness.

1
Poke holes in a plastic bag and place the cigarillo inside the bag. Close the bag. Place the bag into another plastic bag.
-
2
Place a damp sponge into the second plastic bag and seal the bag. Place it in a plastic container with a lid.

3
Rotate the plastic bag and cigarillo every few days to avoid uneven circulation of humidity.
-
4
Squeeze the cigarillo gently every few days to see if it has a springy texture. Once the texture has become springy again, the cigarillo is ready to be smoked.

Tips & Warnings
This process can take up to a few weeks.
Do not add too much water to the sponge, as this can cause the cigarillo to burst from an overabundance of humidity. Make sure the sponge is only slightly damp.
