How to Get Volumized Eyelashes

Mascara adds major volume to eyelashes.

You do not need to glue on false lashes to get volumized eyelashes. Your own eyelashes can look thick and nicely curled, without looking unnatural. All it takes is a few eye makeup tools, precision and patience. To get the best, voluminous eyelashes, devote more than just a few seconds to your eye makeup routine.

Things You'll Need

• Eye makeup remover
• Eyelash curler
• Mascara

Instructions

1. Remove any makeup from eyelashes using makeup remover on a cotton pad. They should be clean of any residue to avoid clumping. Apply eyeliner and eyeshadow if desired.

2. 

   Eyelash curlers add volume and curl to straight lashes.

   Place the eyelash curler over your eyelashes near the roots and squeeze for about two seconds. Move the curler toward the tips of your eyelashes and clamp it again for two more seconds.

3. Chose a mascara that will work for you, preferably a volumizing or curling mascara.Volumized lashes have extra volume and thickness. You may choose either regular or waterproof mascara, and pick from colors ranging from very black to brown for the most natural effect.

4. 

   Apply mascara from root to tip for the most volume.

   Using slow strokes, coat each lash with mascara starting from root to tip on the outer corner, and moving toward the inner corner. Hold the wand parallel to your eyelashes, close your eyes and apply a single layer to your top lashes from the side of your eyelids to separate the lashes. Point the wand tip toward your eye and carefully apply mascara from outer to inner corner.

5. Do not let mascara dry between coats to avoid clumping. Apply another layer if you want more volume but be careful to not apply too much. Your goal is to achieve a natural look.

Tips & Warnings

• Volumizing mascara works best on eyelashes which are thin, straight and short by giving them volume and by helping to enhance the eyes.

• Always use eye makeup remover to remove mascara from eyelashes.

• Replace mascara every 3 months to avoid bacterial or eye infections.
