Use gold foil liners in place of paper liners for cupcakes.

When baking cupcakes, opt for foil cupcake liners to create a more polished and sophisticated look for your treats. Foil liners don't take on a greasy look, like some paper liners, making them more presentable. Use each type of liner interchangeably because both serve the same purpose. Look for liners that come in different sizes for mini, regular or large cupcakes. For your next gathering, use gold foil cupcake liners with your favorite cupcake recipe and wait for the reactions. Instructions

    • 1

Remove any thin, tissue-like material that the manufacturer may have inserted between each foil liner. Some manufacturers won't have this tissue-like material inserted.

    • 2

Pull out the gold foil baking cups one at a time from the stack. Gold foil liners are a bit thicker than paper liners because they are made of two layers. They usually consist of a foil layer laminated with wax onto a paper layer.

    • 3

Place a gold foil baking cup into each individual cup of an un-greased muffin pan. Foil liners won't absorb the oil from the cupcake. Paper liners will absorb oil, which may cause discoloration after the baking has completed.

    • 4

Pour your cupcake mix into each liner, according to your recipe's directions. Bake as instructed. The gold foil cups don't affect baking time.
