Auto window tinting has many practical advantages including protection from the sun's glare and privacy. It also gives your car a classy look. Not all auto window tints are the same or function the same. There are also various installation methods. Auto window tinting is not inexpensive so consider the reasons you want to tint your cars windows and learn which tinting is best for your car.

      Decide which windows you want to tint. If you are tinting only the side windows, you can go with more decorative tints than if you plan to tint the windshield and back windows.

      Review your state's window tint laws to find your applicable regulations. These regulations will help you decide how dark your tint can legally be.

      Apply black tint if you want achieve privacy. Use the darkest tint that regulations allow for the most coverage.

      Choose a fiery color such as red, orange or yellow to add color and brighten your car. These colors will not make you unseen from outside the car.

      Select royal or sapphire blue tints to give a luxury-car quality to your vehicle. These colors are often factory standard with high-end cars.

      Select green or gray tinting to combine coloring with heat protection and some privacy.

  • You can buy precut tints that are already shaped for your car's windows.

  • Do not apply a tint to your vehicle if it will obscure your vision and ability to drive safely in any way.
