How to Remove a Chainlink Fence Post
Chainlink fencing is functional and relatively simple to assemble. The fencing is attached to poles with wire ties, making removing the fence as simple as removing a few bolts and cutting the ties. The top poles and pole caps typically join together without the aid of screws or fasteners. The majority of fence posts sit in the ground at a depth of 1 to 2 feet. The main posts, for stability, are anchored in cement. Removing anchored fence posts can be difficult. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Dig out the surface material covering the cement base. Locate the edges of the base and dig around it. Expose several inches of the base.
-
2
Rock the fence pole back and forth. You will initially be unable to budge the pole. Continue digging around the edges and rocking the pole occasionally. Rocking the pole loosens the surrounding dirt.

3
Hammer the cement base with a cross-pein sledgehammer. The cross-pein indicates a chisel-shaped edge on one side of the sledge. Hammer with the chisel side. Aim the sledge a few inches away from the base of the pole when swinging the sledge.

Repeat Steps 1 through 3 until you are able to lift the pole out of the ground. Backfill the hole with rocks and fill dirt. Leave a small mound, as the dirt will settle rapidly.
