How to Put a GPS Track on a Picasa

The photo organization software Picasa features geotagging functionality that enables you to attach GPS track data to your photographs. Picasa uses a built-in Google Maps interface that can be used to pinpoint the location of the photograph and embed the data into the meta information of the picture. This data can be extracted to visualize the location of your photograph collection.

      Launch Picasa.

      Select the photographs you wish to geotag. You can select individual photos using the "Ctrl" button or entire albums by clicking the album name.

      Click "View," and then click "Places" to open the Google Maps sidebar.

      Find the location you wish to embed into your photographs.

      Click the green Google Maps marker and drag it to the location where the photographs were taken.

      Click "OK" to embed the location information.
