How to Freeze Ready Made Yogurt
Freezing and then thawing yogurt will affect its flavor and texture. You may wish to freeze a small amount and then taste test it when it has thawed before freezing a large batch. For best results, freeze ready made, store-bought yogurt that contains fruit and sugar. Freezing this type of yogurt may not interfere with the consistency, unlike freezing plain yogurt. 1
Adjust your freezer's thermostat to 0 degrees F. Do not place dairy products in the freezer until it has reached this temperature. If your freezer is already at a lower temperature than this, you may keep it at this temperature.
-
2
Seal the yogurt, if necessary. If you have already opened the yogurt, repackage it into air-tight containers.

3
Place the yogurt cups in your freezer on a shelf, rather than on top of another item. Do not pack them in the freezer too close together, because this will increase the time they take to freeze. Yogurt will retain its quality better if it is frozen quickly.
-
4
Store plain, store-bought yogurt in the freezer no longer than one month. Flavored yogurt will keep longer, about five months, because the sugar and other flavorings will help preserve it.
