How to Donate Religious Items
Old bibles, crosses, prayer cards and other religious items can accumulate in a cabinet and get covered in dust. When you come across these items months or even years later, you might find that you have more than you want to keep. Instead of getting rid of extra items or putting them back to collect more dust, donate them to local institutions that will put them to use.

1
Gather together any religious articles you no longer need. Sort them into piles based on what the type of article or who could use them. You could sort them, for example, into piles for children, youth and adults, or into piles of books, medals, statues and other religious objects.
-
2
Clean the objects. Dust the statues, make sure books don't have dog eared pages, and polish medals so their luster shines through again.

-
3
Ask your local priest or pastor if you can donate any of your items to your church. Your religious medals could go to the parish gift shop, for example, and holy cards could be given to children at Sunday School or when they make their First Communion.
-
4
Call local Christian schools and offer them your items, especially small crucifixes that can be hung in the classrooms, religious pictures that could go on walls on in display cases and books for the school library.
-
5
Give any remaining items to a local Christian charity or mail them to national Christian organizations that collect and distribute donations.
