The Tracfone line of mobile prepaid phones offers a commitment-free option if you don't want to be tied down to a cellular phone contract. Alhtough the average Tracfone may not feature as many capabilities as a cutting-edge smart phone, it does offer customization options such as downloadable ring tones. It is a quick and simple process to put ring tones on your Tracfone.

Instructions

1. Power on your Tracfone and select the "Browser" option.

2. Highlight "Start Browser" and press "Select" on your Tracfone.

3. Navigate to the Downloads section using the directional arrows on your Tracfone. Press the "Select" button on your keypad.

4. Scroll down the menu options list to highlight "Ringtones." Press "Select."

5. Scroll through the available ring tone categories in the "Category" menu (which appears automatically) and press "Select" when you find the category in which you are interested.

6. Choose the ring tone you wish to purchase, and press "Select" to bring up the purchase screen.

7. Press "OK" to confirm when prompted.

8. Wait for a Thank You message to appear on screen. Click the link that appears underneath that message to initiate the ring tone download.

9. Click "Yes" when asked to confirm your download.

10. Watch your Tracfone screen for the message that the ring tone has been saved. You may listen to your ring tone by selecting "Launch," or you can return to the main Tracfone menu by selecting "Exit."

Tips & Warnings

• Tracfone ring tones are stored in the Downloaded Ringtones category on the phone. To access your downloaded ring tones, access the Downloaded Ringtones category, then enter the Audio category, followed by "My Folder."
