How to Clean Denture Teeth

Keeping your dentures clean should be a major priority. Regular cleaning helps your dentures to maintain a bright, white color. Denture cleaning also helps promote fresh breath because you are removing food particles that can foster the growth of bacteria that leads to halitosis. Cleaning your dentures is a simple process that requires a minimal investment of time and resources each day. The payoff of a bright smile and fresh breath are worth the investment.

Things You'll Need

• Denture cleaner
• Toothbrush
• Denture soaking solution

Instructions

1. Remove your dentures and rinse them under running water after each time you eat.

2. Brush your dentures at least once a day using a soft bristled toothbrush and denture cleaner. If you don't have denture cleaner, you can use a mild liquid dish soap.

3. Soak your dentures each night in a denture soaking solution. If you don't have soaking solution, at least soak your dentures in a glass of water. Dentures need moisture to retain their shape.

4. Rinse your dentures under running water before you place them back in your mouth after they have soaked in cleansing solution. This will prevent your gums from becoming irritated by the chemicals in the solution.
