Microsoft Briefcase is a two-way file synchronization program for PCs.

Introduced in 1995, Microsoft Briefcase is a program that synchronizes files from one computer or removable hard drive to another computer. This program is used with Windows Explorer and acts just as another folder and you will be able to place the file you wish to synchronize in it. After that it is an updating process. Whenever you update the files will update to your PC.

      Download wanted files on an external or removable hard drive. This could be from your mobile, laptop or work computer.

      Determine what computer you want to transfer your files to.

      Click and drag files from external hard drive and drop into the Briefcase program folder.

      Update the program. Using the toolbar options the user can Update All when clicking this button, synchronizing all new and updated files.

      Save work and update program often to ensure safe keeping of files.

  • Save work after every task.

  • Do not delete any files until they are successfully saved and backed up.

  • Make sure that the files have transferred and synchronized successfully after every update.
