How to Block Porn Websites From My Child
Children are seemingly exposed to more information with the advent of new technologies. You may be hard-pressed to find a child without access to the Internet. You can protect your child from porn websites using various security components of a computer's operating system. You can also download free software for additional protection.

Adjust the security levels of your browser using the "Internet Options" feature. Click on the "Start" button, then on "Control Panel" and choose "Internet Options." Select the security tab, then simply adjust the bar located under the phrase "Security levels for this zone." Do this by clicking on your mouse on the rectangular bar and then moving the mouse up or down along a mousepad. Use the "High" setting to block website with highly undesired content.

Open "Internet Options" inside the "Control Panel" or simply use the computer's "Search" feature. Click on the "Start" button, then "Control Panel" and then double-click on the phrase "Internet Options." You can also click your "Start" button, then type "Internet Options" over the phrase "Start Search." Choose the content tab next, then press the "Parental Controls" button and click "Continue," if prompted. Click on the name or picture icon of the account you want to protect. Enter a password, confirm it, then click on the "OK" button. Close all windows, then reboot the computer.

Enable the "Content Advisor." Press the "Start" button. Choose "Control Panel" and then "Internet Options," then press the "Content" tab. Look for the phrase "Content Advisor." Click on the button that reads "Enable," then click "Continue," if a window pops up. Read through the list of categories and the website descriptions. Click and hold the rectangular object under the phrase that should start with "Adjust the slider to specify..." Move it to the far left to block porn websites.

Lock out a computer-savvy child using the supervisor password feature located in the Content Advisor section. Click the "General" tab, then press the "Create Password" button. Enter and confirm the password, type in a hint phrase. Click the "OK" button, then reboot the computer.

Restrict problem websites individually by enabling the restricted sites feature. Navigate to "Internet Options," then click on the icon with the phrase "Restricted Sites." Enter the URL of the porn website you want to block from a child.

Tips & Warnings
Enable the User Accounts settings when you first buy a computer.
Know that an older child may use the functions keys to entirely wipe out any settings, if they know how to use the "Safe Mode" option.
