How to Make a Court Jester Hat
Throughout history and in fairy tales, jesters were the "fools" in the king or queen's court. Creating a jester's hat is simple and requires few materials. Use bright primary colors and small jingle bells to complete the "foolish" look, which is perfect for plays and musicals, playing dress-up or simply to amuse your friends with some funny jokes and songs.
Things You'll Need

1
Measure around the head with a tape measure. Cut a 3-inch-wide strip of craft foam the length of the head circumference plus an additional 2 inches for overlap.
-
2
Cut three to five isosceles triangles from craft foam; isosceles triangles have two sides of equal length, generally two long sides and a shorter "base." The triangles for your jester's hat should be about 12 inches high and 4 to 5 inches wide at the base. Use a variety of colors for the triangles.

3
Glue the ends of the foam strip together in a circle to create a basic crown shape with hot glue. Glue the triangular foam shapes inside the crown pointing upward, spacing the triangles out evenly and alternating colors as you go.
-
4
Glue a bell onto the pointed end of each triangle. The weight will pull the triangle tip down toward the head, creating the classic jester shape.
-
5
Glue additional bells along the crown's headband.
