Add arrows in Adobe InDesign.

Arrows are an important part of many documents created with Adobe InDesign. You can use them to create callout lines in technical documents, to show the flow of information or to create an artistic design. Adding arrows to a line in InDesign requires selecting the desired arrow from a drop-down menu. You can add any effects or styles to the line, and the arrow will automatically adjust with the line.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the InDesign file in which you'd like to add an arrow. Select the "Line" tool, and draw the line to which you want to add an arrow.

    • 2

Click "Window" in the file menu, and select "Stroke" to open the stroke panel.

    • 3

Select the "Selection" tool, and click on the line.

    • 4

Click on the "Start" or the "End" drop-down menu. Select the desired arrow that you want to add to the line. If the arrow is on the wrong end, click "Object" from the main menu and select "Reverse Paths" from the "Paths" submenu.
