Instructions

    • 1

Determine the size for your pocket belt, such as 8 inches wide by 5 inches deep. Draw a pattern for the pocket on tracing paper with the pencil. Cut out the pattern with the scissors.

    • 2

Transfer the pattern to the material you want use for the inside lining and the outside of the pocket. Cut around the pattern with the scissors. You will require two pieces for the inside and two pieces for the outside.

    • 3

Place the two cut inside pieces one on top of the other. Sew the bottom and sides together with a needle and thread or use a sewing machine. Repeat this step with the two outside pieces.

    • 4

Position the top edge of the inside and outside pieces side-by-side. Stitch the two pieces together along the top edge.

    • 5

Tuck the inside piece into the outside piece. Push up from the bottom to expose the bottom edges of the material. Sew the bottom edges together with a slip stitch to create a fabric pocket with an inside lining.

    • 6

Sew a 1-inch piece of fabric to the middle of the back of the pocket to create a loop.

    • 7

Use an apron tie to secure the pocket belt to your waist.
