How to Tighten Sisterlocks With Fingers
Sisterlocks are a low maintenance hairstyle often styled on natural hair textures. Essentially sisterlocks are individual dreads that are substantially smaller than the regular kind. Similar to other dread locking hairstyles, when your hair starts to grow, you will need to retighten the lock. You can do this by yourself with the use of a few products and your fingers. Things You'll Need
- Beeswax, locking gel or Shea butter
- 5 large duckbill clips
- Several small duckbill clips or bobby pins

Section your hair into four even sections and use a large duckbill clip to clip up the sisterlocks in each section except one.

Select one sisterlock dread from the bunch that you left down and clip the rest of the dreads up and out of the way.

Rub a little beeswax, locking gel or Shea butter directly on the new growth hair at the top of that specific dread.

Place your thumb and index finger near your scalp, at the very beginning of your new hair growth and slowly twist the hair in between your fingers in the direction of the original twist. Continue twisting the hair downward until you reach the original dread.

Attach a small duckbill clip to the twist to hold it in place. Allow the lock to dry before you remove the clip. Continue this process to retighten the remaining locks.
