How to Be a Boyfriend or Girlfriend in "The Sims 3"

Becoming a boyfriend or girlfriend is just the first step in developing relationships for Sims.

Love, even young love, is an important part for anyone growing up. It's fitting that "The Sims 3" would allow users to guide their Sims through their own relationships. Once Sims become teenagers, they will have the ability to become boyfriend or girlfriend with other Sims; but they will only date Sims they like and vice versa! Becoming boyfriend or girlfriend is just the first of many steps in creating a lasting Sim relationship.

Instructions

1. Meet a Sim you are interested in romancing. Public venues, such as the gym or park, are a great place to meet Sims.

2. Increase your relationship with the Sim by choosing interactions are appropriate for your relationship level. Sims don't like to be hugged unless they are close to the Sim hugging them. Also, they do not like Sims to repeat the same interactions.

3. Complete some of the "Romantic" interactions with the other Sim. A regular kiss will be one of the first options available. It's impossible to tell exactly when a Sim will accept a kiss, but it's always best to wait until they are friends, at the very least. After several successful "Romantic" interactions, the option "Propose Going Steady" will appear in the "Romantic" interactions panel.

4. Click "Propose Going Steady" to ask the Sim to be your boyfriend or girlfriend. If the Sim accepts, the two Sims will be officially dating.
