Instructions

    • 1

Apply a holding spray or pomade to your hair. While the product is still wet, flip your hair over and blow dry to create additional volume.

    • 2

Create a deep side part on whichever side of the head you prefer. Pull out pieces in the front of the head, reserving them to create messy, loose-flowing wisps. Pull the remaining hair back and braid it from the center of your head going down. Braid the hair at an angle so it falls over your shoulder. Secure the braid with a hair tie, making sure to leave a couple of inches loose at the bottom.

    • 3

Create more volume by curling the reserved front, loose sections of hair with a large-barrel curling iron. Don't curl the hair too tight; you just want to create very loose waves.

    • 4

Use your fingers to loosen up the braid to give it a desired messy effect. Separate strands of hair in your braid until it looks sufficiently messy. It's totally up to you how extreme you want to go here. Finish off with a spritz of holding spray.
