How to Make an Appreciation Bulletin Board
Appreciation bulletin boards can be used for a wide range of people, from parents and teachers to nurses and doctors. They can be created for holidays such as Mother's Day, Father's Day or Teacher Appreciation Day. The board is decorated to show the recipients how much they are appreciated. Making an appreciation bulletin board requires some planning, but can be a good project for a class.
Instructions

-
1
Decide who your board should appreciate. This can be a group such as teachers, firemen, nurses or doctors.
-
2
Create a title. A common title for appreciation boards is something such as "Our World Class Mom's" or "World's Best Firemen." The title should be celebratory and tell readers what the board is about.
-
-
3
Collect pictures of individuals, if possible. If the board is about parents, ask for pictures of children's parents to use. If it is about a local service, such as firemen, request photographs of the local force, explaining that you want to use them to raise awareness of the service and what they do. Most services will be happy to help.
-
4
Help the students to make a list of the reasons why they appreciate that person. For example, they may appreciate their teacher for making exciting lessons, or their moms for giving them cuddles or making good food. Let the students list the reasons, with some prompting from you if necessary. If the students aren't overly familiar with the group, such as firemen, suggest reasons such as keeping the town safe and rescuing our pets.
-
5
Assign each reason to a student or group of students, depending on the number of students and reasons. Ask them to write it out, giving assistance as necessary.
-
6
Cut out the letters required to make the title. Allow the class to decorate in a different way, such as gluing sequins or glitter to some, painting spots or stripes, etc.
-
7
Cover the bulletin board in colored paper to give it an eye-catching look.
-
8
Mount the reasons onto colored paper or card in a contrasting color to the background.
-
9
Arrange the bulletin board so that the title, pictures and reasons are well-organized across the board and its meaning is clear. You may want to put all the pictures in the middle, the title curved across the top and the reasons at the sides.
-
10
Invite the included people in to see the board or send pictures of it to them. Make sure there is a variety of pictures so that the whole board can be seen and individual reasons can be read.

Tips & Warnings
If the group won't be able to see the board in person, you could make a card to send with photographs of the board or send the photographs and reasons to the group when you take the board down.
Using a color scheme can make the board look more professional and organized.
