Things You'll Need

  • Meatballs

  • Olive or vegetable oil

  • Non-stick frying pan

  • Splatter screen (optional)

  • Spatula

  • Roasting pan

Meatballs are a hearty favorite for many families. They can be added to your favorite tomato sauce to create a spaghetti and meatball dinner or even eaten without sauce. Meatballs should be browned on all sides for best flavor. You can accomplish this by pan frying or baking them in the oven. Baking the meatballs is easiest with less mess, but pan frying gives a crunchy crust and added flavor.

Step 1

Coat the bottom of the frying pan with a thin layer of oil. Turn the heat to "Medium-High." When the oil is hot, place the meatballs carefully in the frying pan. Use a splatter screen, if available, to prevent the hot oil from splattering all over the stove.

Step 2

Use a spatula to turn the meatballs. Once the meatballs have browned, turn them and cook all sides until each side is browned. Browning the meatballs gives them added flavor.

Step 3

Bake meatballs in a 375 degree Fahrenheit oven. A simple method for making meatballs is baking them in the oven. Drizzle a thin layer of oil on the bottom of the roasting pan. Place the meatballs into the roasting pan and place the pan in the oven. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until browned. Turn the meatballs over after 15 to 20 minutes.
