1. Type "free fonts" in a search engine. Make sure the phrase has quotation marks around it so the search engine doesn't pick up every instance of the word "font" in a Web page.

2. Visit graphic arts and design sites. Many offer free fonts or links to sites that offer free fonts.

3. Check out sites that offer free clip art or Web art. Look for Font headings.

4. Check the home page of your favorite word processing or paint program. Some offer free fonts or font packages with upgrade or purchase.

5. Check your existing programs and CD-ROMs to see if they came with extra fonts. Many programs package fonts in an Extras or Add-Ons folder on the installation CD-ROM.
