Unlike most applications on your Mac, you cannot simply drag and drop Quicksilver into the trash to uninstall it from your computer. This is because Quicksilver nests itself deeply into the Mac operating system in order to provide much of its functionality. To properly uninstall Quicksilver, use the uninstall tool packaged with the application itself.
Uninstalling Quicksilver from your Mac
Open Quicksilver if it is not already running and press the keyboard shortcut used to open the action window (usually "Ctrl-Space"). Click the drop-down arrow and select "Preferences." Select the Preferences tab and, in the Applications panel, click "Uninstall Quicksilver" to completely remove the application from your computer.
Quicksilver is open source software designed to perform quick actions with a simple keyboard shortcut. For instance, you can launch other apps on your Mac with Quicksilver, change file names or compose emails. It does not come preinstalled on your Mac but it does start automatically on launch. If you do not use Quicksilver, uninstalling the software will free up system resources for other applications.
