How to Activate Project Purity Codes
The final objective of the quest "Take It Back!" in "Fallout 3" requires reactivating Project Purity. The code is 2-1-6, a referring to Revelation 21:6, a verse from the Bible that is referenced numerous times in the story. The control room the code must be entered in is heavily radiated. Only one character can enter the room --- and subsequently be exposed to a lethal dose of radiation in the process. The player only has to activate the code if she chooses to enter the control room herself.
Instructions

-
1
Progress through the mission objectives until Sarah Lyons suggests that you draw straws to determine who should enter the control room.
-
2
Choose "I'll do it. I'll start the purifier." from the dialogue options shown.
-
-
3
Use a Rad-X to increase your radiation resistance. The maximum radiation resistance possible is 85%. Even with the maximum radiation resistance possible, the radiation in the control room is high enough to kill you in under a minute. However, this is more than enough time to enter the code.
-
4
Enter the control room through the door behind Sarah Lyons. The console you need to enter the code into is directly in front of the door. It has a numbered keypad on the front of it. This console does not function like most computers in "Fallout 3."
-
5
Place the targeting cursor over the "2" on the Project Purity console.
-
6
Press the Activate button to enter the first digit of the code. The activate button is "A" on the Xbox 360 version, ""X" on the PlayStation 3 and "E" on the PC.
-
7
Activate "1" on the console the same way you activated "2."
-
8
Activate "6" on the console. The code is not yet active after "6" is entered.
-
9
Activate the "Enter" button on the right side of the console. This activates the code and starts the ending.

Tips & Warnings
The player still needs to know what the code is if another character is selected to enter the control room. This just requires selecting "2-1-6" from the dialogue options when the player is asked for the code.
