How to Embed Pictures on HTML for Tumblr Post
One of the selling points of Tumblr is that the blogging platform makes it easy to post a variety of content; there are separate posting modules for text, photos, videos and other content types. However, it's also possible to insert photos into traditional blog posts. You can do this by using the photo buttons on the text post module, or by inserting the photo manually with HTML.

Click the "Text" button on the Tumblr dashboard to create a new text post.

Click the "HTML" button to switch to HTML view.

Add the tag <img src="URL">, replacing "URL" with the Web address of the photo. You must have the photo uploaded online to use this option.

Click "Update" when you're finished to switch back to the visual-post editor. Your image will be displayed in the preview area.

Add your text, then click "Create post" to publish your post.

Tips & Warnings
You can also insert an image into a Tumblr text post without using HTML by clicking the "Upload a photo" option, to insert a photo from your hard drive, or the "Insert/edit image" icon to link to a photo uploaded elsewhere.
