How to Install a 2Wire PCI Adapter for Broadband Internet

Broadband Internet is used to download large files from the Internet and access Web pages at high speeds. If you are trying to get onto a broadband service but don't have the 2Wire PCI adapter loaded on your Internet Options screen, you will need to install it. The 2Wire PCI adapter will give you the ability to connect to the Internet through high speeds. You don't have to be a Windows technician to get your 2Wire PCI adapter installed. You can do it yourself.

      Remove the USB cable connecting the 2Wire adapter card to your computer's USB port. Go to the 2Wire website and download the driver package from the site.

      Double-click on the driver file to load it onto your computer. Insert the 2Wire adapter back into your computer through a USB port.

      Click on the "Next" button on the software menu to install the 2Wire adapter on your system.

      Click the "Include This Location" option from the menu and then type "C:\TWWGPCI_TEMP" into the field on the screen. Click the "Next" button to finish installing the card.

      Click on the "WirelessCfb.exe" program from your "C:\TWWGPCI_TEMP" directory. Follow the prompts to get to the wireless configuration menu. Enter your serial number and the wireless encryption key into the menu that appears. The serial number to your adapter card is included in the card's packaging. You should have set up your wireless encryption key when you installed your wireless router. Click the "Begin Wireless Configuration" button.

      Wait for the program to connect and then click the "Tools" button at the top of the browser screen. Click the "Internet Options" menu and then click on the 2Wire menu from the screen. You will now be able to get onto broadband service with your 2Wire adapter.
