How to Count the History of Backlinks
Backlinks are links that are directed toward your website. Also known as "inbound links," they are important for search engine optimization (SEO), as they indicate the popularity or importance of your website. Thus, backlinks play a role in the ranking of a website in search engine queries. Web-based services allow you to find the history and count of backlinks. These include Yahoo's "Site Explorer" and Google's "Webmaster Tools." Finding backlinks is a relatively simple process that can be done in a quick amount of time.
