How to Send a Cut Fruit Basket
Sending a fruit basket is a healthy gift that nearly anyone can appreciate. When the fruit is already cut, this makes the gift instantly able to be enjoyed. However, once cut, the rapid spoiling process of the fruit makes it difficult to send to anyone. As of 2011, "Edible Arrangements" is the only company to offer cut fruit baskets to be sent. The fruit is not only cut, but is also arranged to present like a flower bouquet. Alternatively, contact a catering company in the area that you wish to send the basket to and ask if they can do a custom cut fruit basket.

Log on to Edible Arrangements' website. Once logged on, you will be on their home page, where they have their special promotions listed.

Select a fruit basket to send. At the top of the screen, click on the "Arrangements" tab, which brings up a listing of all of their products.

Input the zip code and date of delivery into the popup window. On the arrangements screen, a pop-up window asks you to input the zip code of the destination. Depending on the location you are sending the basket to, you may be limited to sending one of the "Dipped Baskets," which are baskets with cut fruit dipped in white, dark or milk chocolate. These do not come in the "bouquet"-style arrangement that the normal baskets come in. This is all determined by the location's proximity to an Edible Arrangements store, with rural locations being out of the bouquet delivery radius.

Personalize your basket. The next options will allow you to add certain dipped fruits into your bouquet, as well as balloons, stuffed animals and dipping sauces.

Enter the recipient information. In addition to the address and name of the recipient, you can also add delivery instructions. You can also input a personal message that you would like to have appear on a card that is included in the bouquet.

Enter the billing and payment information. Enter your name, address and credit card information. If you have received a promotional discount code from starting an account with them, there is a box in the middle of this form for you to input the code.

Visit one of the store locations. If you did not want to order online, you may visit one of their locations. As of March 2011, there are 1028 Edible Arrangements locations worldwide. You can place orders at any of these locations.

Contact a catering company. Many catering companies will arrange a made-to-order fruit basket, even if it is not on their regular menu. Find one that will do so in close proximity to the area that you want to send to.

Clarify your order with the company. Anyone can send a fruit basket, but you need to make sure that they can deliver a cut fruit basket. If possible, get a breakdown or written estimate of the order in writing prior to the purchase, just so there are no communication errors about what you want to send.

Set up a time and date for delivery. Make sure that this is in the written estimate, as well, to avoid any confusion. See if they can include a personalized message, if you want one.

Pay for your order. A credit card is needed to complete this transaction. Some companies have a website for their business, to which they may direct you to log on to complete the order.
