How do I Install a New DVD on a Computer?
DVD players are disc drives that allow you to play a DVD on your computer. DVD players are installed in one of the drive slots inside the computer case. Remove the computer case cover by removing the screws that attaches it to the case. The cover slides off of the main case, and you can see the motherboard and the drive slots. The drive slots are typically in the front of the computer case.

Slide the DVD player into one of the drive slots, ensuring that the back of the drive faces the back of the computer. This is important, because you must connect the DVD cable to the motherboard.

Connect one end of the DVD cable that came with the drive to the back of the DVD player, and attach the other end of the cable to the drive ports on the motherboard. You can identify the drive ports by following the cable from an existing drive to the motherboard. The connection ports are grouped together.

Attach one of the power cables from the power supply to the power connection on the back of the DVD drive. This cable gives power to the drive when you turn on your computer.
