How to Install Internet Explorer 6 From the Command Line
Internet Explorer 6 comes standard with versions of Microsoft Windows XP. If you have Windows 7, you will have a newer version of Internet Explorer such as IE10. If you still have Windows XP and don't wish to upgrade to a free newer version of Internet Explorer, you can use the command prompt to install IE6 on your machine.

Click "Start." Your Start menu will appear.

Click "Run." An entry prompt will appear in the form of your command prompt.

Type in: "rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\Inf\ie.inf." Press "Enter." You will now launch the Internet Explorer 6 installation.

Read and accept the license terms. Choose the destination for your installation. Click "Next" to begin the installation. Allow the installation to complete fully. Reboot your computer to finalize the process.
