How to Use Facebook to Update Twitter and LinkedIn

To save you valuable work time and still get the benefits of using all the most popular social networking tools, there is a way to integrate them so when you're posting on Facebook, the post updates on your Twitter feed or your LinkedIn profile. By integrating with Twitter, you'll be able to post updates from your Facebook business page right to Twitter. You can then set up your Twitter feed to post to your LinkedIn profile, so all three will post the same updates from one source.

  • Log into your Facebook profile, then navigate to the "Facebook to Twitter" page. The pages for which you have administrative power should appear there. Click "Link to Twitter" next to the one you want to link.

  • Enter your Twitter user name and password when prompted at the next screen, then click "Allow." This gives your Facebook profile access to post to your Twitter feed.

  • Navigate back to your Facebook business page. At the "What's on your mind?" box, type in an update on what you're doing right now, then click "Share." Go back to your Twitter profile to ensure the update you just sent from Facebook is updating your Twitter feed.

  • Log into your LinkedIn profile, then click "Profile" at the top of the page. Click "Edit My Profile."

  • At the edit profile screen, click "Add Twitter account." Enter your Twitter user name and password when prompted. You will then be asked whether you want to share all tweets on LinkedIn, or to share only tweets that contain certain information. Follow the prompts to decide which tweets you wish to share.

  • Navigate back to your Facebook page and enter in a status update in the "What's on your mind?" box. Go back to your LinkedIn profile and see if the update appears in your Twitter updates box on the right side of your profile.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep in mind your Facebook "fan" or business page is the page that is integrated with Twitter, not your personal Facebook profile. Thus, your Facebook updates will show up on Twitter, followed by LinkedIn, only if you send the update from your business page.
