The United Parcel Service allows shippers and receivers to follow a particular package in transit to help determine the estimated delivery time. UPS provides a tracking number on the package receipt or invoice. The easiest way to track a package is to visit the UPS website; however, you also can call the company's automated system to track a package by telephone.
Tracking a Package Online
Visit the UPS website and click on the "Tracking" tab in the site's navigation.
Type your tracking number into the "Track by Number" box. You can track up to 25 packages. Put each tracking number on a different line. Click the "Track" button to view the tracking information for the package.
Log in to your email account and compose a new mail message to "email@example.com." Type the tracking number as the subject line or in the body of the email. You'll receive an automated response providing you with the package's tracking information.
Tracking a Package by Telephone
Call the UPS telephone number for domestic package services at 1-800-742-5877.
Speak "Track a package" at the prompt.
Speak your tracking number when prompted.
Wait for the system to look up the package and provide you with the tracking information.
Speak "Agent" or push "0" to speak with an agent if you have trouble with the automated system. Give the agent your tracking number to check on the status of the package.
