How to Uninstall More Than One Program at Once

Uninstalling software applications is a common process in Microsoft Windows, both in a professional environment and at home. There may be occasions in which you need to remove more than one program at once. Microsoft Windows "Programs and Features" is a built-in Control Panel program that allows you to remove unwanted software applications. Because Microsoft Windows is a multitasking operating system, you're able to uninstall a number of programs simultaneously using "Programs and Features."

  • Go to the Windows Control Panel. You need to click on the Windows "Start" menu and click on the "Control Panel" option. The Control Panel window will open.

  • Click on "Programs and Features." The "Programs and Features" program will appear, in which you can uninstall as many programs as you wish.

  • Select the first program that you would like to install. You need to select the program in the list and click on the "Uninstall" option to remove the program. You will need to confirm the uninstallation process, which typically includes clicking an "OK" or "YES" button before the removal will proceed.

  • Repeat the process in Step 3 for all software removals that you would like to perform. You can make as many uninstallations as you please; while one uninstallation is in process, you can go back to "Programs and Features" and uninstall another program. The speed at which these simultaneous uninstallations complete will depend on the hardware that is present inside your computer.

  • Restart your computer. Once you have finished removing your programs, make sure that you restart Windows because this will ensure that all of the software configurations are correct.
