OnStar is a vehicle monitoring and driver assistance service built into most General Motor vehicles. The service includes many features, including the ability to remotely unlock your vehicle's doors, automatic crash detection, turn by turn navigation, hands-free calling, and emergency personnel response. If necessary, users can call OnStar from the control panel in their car or from their cellphone. OnStar also provides telephone support for those requiring a teletypewriter, which is a telecommunications device for the deaf.
Press the blue "OnStar" button, located on the OnStar control panel, to be connected with an OnStar representative. The OnStar control panel is often located on the rear-view mirror of the car or on the front console.

Tips & Warnings
- When calling OnStar from a telephone or TTY device, you must provide your personal identification number, or PIN, for security and verification purposes. Your PIN was set during the OnStar welcome call when your OnStar account was established. If you have lost your PIN you may be required to provide personal information to the OnStar representative to verify that you are the vehicle owner, including your name, address, telephone number, license plate number and vehicle identification number, or VIN to verify ownership of your vehicle.
