Most programs rely on your computer's default printer settings when you choose to print a page, but not Firefox. Mozilla Firefox uses the last options you chose when printing a Web page. This means if you chose a different printer, selected black and white printing or chose landscape orientation, then those settings are applied the next time you print. That's convenient when these are your preferred settings, but sometimes you just want to use your system defaults. You can return to the default print mode by resetting your Firefox printer.
Open Mozilla Firefox. Type "about:config" in the address bar and then press "Enter."
Click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button in the warning pop-up pane.
In the Search field, type "print_printer." Right-click "print.print_printer" in the alphabetized list of preferences and then select "Reset." If you can't find "print.print_printer," then your printer is already reset or has never been used in Firefox. If this is the case, then it is already configured as the system defaults..
Click the "menu" button with the three-bar icon and then select "exit" to close the configuration window.
Tips & Warnings
- If the Firefox printer is still not reset after following this procedure, then perform the same task on the "print.printer" entries for your printer
