How to Put Videos on a Facebook Wall

Facebook provides several different avenues for sharing media on your wall. For instance, you can share photos or links. The website also has multiple options for placing videos on walls. For example, you can record a video directly from your webcam to your wall or to a friend's. You also have the option to upload videos from your hard drive to your own wall. Lastly, Facebook allows you to post videos from popular video websites, such as Hulu or YouTube, by utilizing the "Links" feature.

Record a Video

Step 1

Visit the wall to which you want to upload a video.

Step 2

Click the "Video" link at the top of the wall. If you are viewing a friend's wall, the webcam application will automatically load. If you are on your wall, click "Record a Video."

Step 3

Click the bubble next to "Allow" and click "Close." Your webcam's image will appear on your Facebook wall.

Step 4

Click the red button below your webcam's image to begin recording.

Step 5

Click the button again to end the recording.

Step 6

Click "Share" to publish the video to the wall.

Upload a Video

Step 1

Go to your Facebook wall. You cannot upload videos from your computer to a friend's wall.

Step 2

Click the "Video" link at the top of your wall.

Step 3

Click "Upload a Video" and click "Browse." A dialog box will open, allowing you to browse your hard drive for videos.

Step 4

Double-click the video you wish to post to your wall. The video will begin uploading. This process can last a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the video's size.

Step 5

Click "Share" to finish publishing the video to your wall.

Link a Video

Step 1

Visit the wall to which you wish to add a video from a different website, such as YouTube.

Step 2

Click "Link" at the top of the wall.

Step 3

Enter the video's link and click "Attach."

Step 4

Click "Share." The video will post to the wall.
