With StuffIt Deluxe, you can create a compressed archive that will decompress itself with a double-click.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Select a file or batch of files to compress, using StuffIt Deluxe.

  2. Step 2

Click on or check the Preferences item that creates a self-extracting archive, or .sea file. With StuffIt Deluxe, you can configure the application to create a .sea file by simply adding that suffix to the file name - and you can decompress it by removing the suffix.

  3. Step 3

Decompress the file you created by double-clicking on its icon.

Tips & Warnings
  • Compressed files cannot be used by an application until they are decompressed. However, you can set StuffIt to do this automatically.
