How to Boost Graphics With Integrated Cards
Integrated graphics cards are found in many modern computers. Unlike separate graphics cards, integrated graphics are part of the motherboard and are not replaceable with upgraded cards. However, it is still possible to boost the graphics performance of integrated graphics cards. This is possible because the system memory is shared with the graphics memory. By upgrading your system memory, you allow the integrated graphics card to designate more memory for displaying graphics, thus improving performance.

1
Remove the power cable from your computer. If your computer is a laptop, also remove its battery. Laptop batteries can be removed by unlatching the small plastic latches next to the battery and pulling it out.
-
2
Open up your computer case. Desktop PCs usually have a side panel that can be unscrewed and slid right off. Laptops have a small bottom panel that can be unscrewed and lifted free.
-
3
Locate the RAM banks. These will be right next to the CPU, and look like long, thin sockets. In a laptop, the RAM may be all you can access through the bottom panel, or it may be underneath a hard drive. If you have to, gently lift the hard drive up to access the RAM.
-
4
Place your RAM chip in a free socket. Line it up and then press it firmly into the socket until it clicks.
-
5
Replace the case cover.
-
6
Plug the power cable back in and battery, if applicable.
-
7
Power on your computer.
