How to Find Old Aim Conversations

One of the features of Aol instant messenger (AIM) is the ability to save previous conversations in an archive on your computer. Each conversation is labeled by the screen name of your chat partner and is saved in HTML format. You can use this archive to revisit previous IM sessions whenever you want.

Instructions

1. Launch AIM and sign in with your screen name and password.

2. Press "F7" to access the Settings menu.

3. Select "IM Logs" from the left side of the Settings menu to open the folder containing your AIM logs.

4. Double-click on the screen name representing the chat log you want to view to open it in your default browser.

Tips & Warnings

• Archiving must be enabled before you can view your old AIM conversations.
